Maintenance Automation Technician

About the Role

The Maintenance Automation Technician is a subject matter expert in process automation with strong hands‑on electrical and mechanical maintenance capabilities. The role combines deep technical expertise with operational autonomy to manage complex maintenance activities and ensure the reliability and safety of production assets. It is responsible for defining and improving preventive and corrective maintenance programs to guarantee business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support to the Cadorago Distribution Center, focusing on the performance of slitting lines and automated packaging systems.
• Diagnose complex technical issues and develop and execute effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead automation optimisation and control‑system modifications across manufacturing equipment and infrastructure.
• Manage business‑critical suppliers and collaborate with internal technical experts to share best practices.
• Participate in local maintenance strategy, including budget input and subcontractor management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in paper slitter, rewinder or adhesive‑tape industries.
• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and repair complex electromechanical systems on highly automated machinery.
• Solid understanding of electrical, pneumatic and mechanical schematics.
• Practical experience with automation networks, hardware and software.
• Deep knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens technologies (strong plus).
• Fluent in Italian; English proficiency is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
• Ability to analyse technical schemes and PLC software for troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
