Senior Service Engineer – Mega Yacht

Company MacGregor is a global company operating in over 30 countries with 2000 employees, providing sustainable cargo and load handling solutions to offshore and marine industries.

Role Overview We are establishing a new service hub in Trieste, Italy. We seek an experienced Senior Service Engineer – Mega Yacht with expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or automation systems, working on hatch covers, ramps, winches, cranes, gangways, tender garages and steering gear systems on MegaYachts and other marine vessels.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, maintenance, repair and upgrade activities on electrical, automation, hydraulic and mechanical systems across the MegaYacht portfolio.
• Lead and coordinate service technicians, subcontractors and project personnel on site.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less‑experienced team members.
• Act as primary customer contact on site, conducting daily coordination meetings with customers, shipyard personnel and vessel representatives.
• Identify technical risks, delays and resource constraints and escalate them to the Project Engineer and Project Manager.
• Prepare accurate service, inspection and completion reports, including technical findings and lessons learned.
• Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, marine engineering or related field.
• Several years of experience as a Service Engineer with a proven track record of leading on‑site teams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, automation, hydraulic and mechanical systems; MegaYacht experience is a strong advantage.
• Ability to make decisions and solve complex problems under pressure.
• Excellent customer‑facing and communication skills, professional and confident at all levels.
• Good digital skills, including report writing and basic data entry.
• English proficiency minimum B2 level.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within Europe, including overnight and multi‑week assignments.
